This is a beautiful and classic piece of Stella Chavarria black ware pottery features an elongated neck. The neck is fully carved with a feather pattern.  There are fifteen deeply carved feathers encircling the neck of the jar.  Around the body of the piece is an Avanyu (water serpent).  The piece has a glossy burnished surface and matte in the reliefs.  It is signed on the bottom in the ceramic, 'Stella Chavarria Punta Clara'. The piece was crafted circa. 1980s. Approximate dimensions of the piece:
