This is a very heavy and large antique German coffee grinder from around the late 1800’s. The manufacturer, Kissing & Möllmann, was founded in 1826 by the Iserlohn entrepreneurs Ferdinand Möllmann and Johann Hermann Kissing. Kissing & Möllmann was one of the most important commission trading houses in the province of Westphalia. The main sales areas were Italy and Spain as well as Germany and Russia. The company became known nationally from 1872 onwards through the production of coffee grinders. In 1894 Kissing & Möllmann had 120 employees and produced 200,000 coffee grinders annually. The company was the largest coffee grinder manufacturer in Germany. This item is from an estate and sold, “as is.” It has been photographed in the condition received with only a cursory dusting for the photographs.
