Antique Embury No 40 Traffic Guard Kerosene Lantern-Red Globe-All Original-Rustic /cb

Antique Embury No.40 Traffic Guard kerosene lantern, a piece of American industrial history made by the Embury manufacturing Company in Warsaw New York before its acquisition by R.E. Dietz in 1953. This lantern features its original red Fresnel globe, designed specifically for traffic control and hazard signaling on roads and construction sites. The robust steel frame is in all original condition. It has a functional wick adjustment with original wick and the filler cap unscrews easily. The lantern is 8” tall, 16” with handle extended and has a 7 1/4” diameter at the base. This lantern has been well used and shows it, but is generally in good antique condition. The globe is intact without major chips or cracks, the steel body shows age and use appropriate surface wear. This lantern is perfect as a rustic display object or as a restauration project.
